Welcome back to the AI Grid! Today we’re diving into the world of artificial intelligence by showing you the fastest way to build your own AI agent-based application. Whether you’re a savvy software engineer or someone who’s just beginning to dip your toes into the coding pool, this tutorial has got your back! We’ll keep it simple and fun with a three-step process to create your very own AI-powered app using the on-demand platform. Let’s get started!

Step 1: Set Up Your On-Demand Environment

First things first, we need to get onto the on-demand platform. So head over there and feast your eyes on the home screen. Here, you’ll want to find the Agent Marketplace, which is like your treasure trove of AI agents ready to assist you. Search for the agent you’d like to use. For this walkthrough, I’m going with the Amazon Shopping Agent Plugin. Just type “Amazon” in the search bar, and you’ll spot it right away! Once you find it, click Add, and voilà! You’ve now added this agent to your playground.

Step 2: Explore the On-Demand Playground

Time to navigate to the playground! This is where the magic really starts. In the chat agent interface, you’ll see some cool features including a media knowledge plugin and model endpoints, using on-demand GPT-40. If you want some extra customization, you have the option to switch to your own model from Hugging Face—how neat is that?

Now, let’s add our newly acquired Amazon shopping agent. Click Add, and you’ll see a notification pop up saying, “Plugin added successfully.” Here’s where the fun begins! You’ll see an example prompt asking for a list of Adidas shoes whose prices fall within a certain range. Since I’m in the UK, I’ll change the currency from AED to GBP. After tweaking the parameters, hit Run.

Hold onto your hats because in mere seconds, my Amazon agent will fetch all the Adidas shoes available on Amazon UK. Seriously, it’s lightning-fast! You’ll notice that the links are clickable and fully functional, directing you to the exact items. I’d give you a peek into my shopping history, but let’s just say my cart is overflowing with goodies!

Step 3: On-Demand Code Integration Made Easy

Now, if you’re itching to bring that AI brilliance into your own application, you’re in for a treat! Even someone like me—who doesn’t consider themselves a hardcore coder—found this part to be a breeze. After testing in the playground, the next logical step is to grab Get Code.

Select your programming language (I’m going with good ol’ Python, but feel free to use JavaScript if that’s your jam). Hit Get Code and like magic, you’ll see a message saying, “Code generated successfully!” This part takes only about three seconds!

Now, remember that to make this code work, you’ll need an API key and an external ID. Here’s where it gets a bit technical—an API key is like a secret password that allows your app to talk to the Amazon Shopping Agent securely, while the external ID helps identify your application.

To grab your API key, just head to the API Keys management area, create a new secret key, and give it a name like “Amazon Agent Key 3.” Make sure you copy it down because you won’t be able to see it again after you leave this page.

Putting It All Together

With both your API key and organization ID safely saved in a text file, you’re ready for action. We’re using something called Streamlit, a super intuitive Python framework for creating web applications. Think of it as a user-friendly canvas for your AI art!

Once you paste your API key into the provided box, all that’s left is to run the application. Open up the terminal and run the command streamlit run app.py. But remember, if it feels like an alien spaceship you’re trying to pilot, don’t sweat it. Just ensure your directory where you’ve downloaded the files matches the command line directory!

After running the app, a new window will pop up asking for your API key and external user ID. Paste these in, hit create a chat session, and watch as your Amazon Shopping Agent whirs to life! Now you can casually ask, “What Adidas shoes fall between £20 and £40?” And just like that, you’ll be met with an impressive list of options and prices, right at your fingertips.

The Power of AI in Everyday Life

Using AI agents like this in your day-to-day can be a total game-changer. Imagine how easy it will be to grab real-time product information, compare prices globally, and streamline your shopping experience—all from the comfort of your home. This is the future of how we interact with technology, almost like having a personal shopper at your beck and call.

In Summary

Creating your own AI agent-based application doesn’t have to be daunting or complex. In just three steps using On-Demand Platform—finding the right agent, using the playground for testing, and easily integrating the code—you’ve unlocked a powerful new tool. Your ability to navigate this technology is just the beginning. With every prompt and every query, you’re harnessing the power of AI to improve your life and the lives of others, making everyday tasks simpler and more efficient.

So, are you ready to join the AI revolution? Dive in, experiment, and don’t forget to leave your questions in the comments below! Happy coding, and kudos to the on-demand platform for paving the way!

  1. I liked it, but a quick question Amazon already has a filter by price option so what difference this agent makes … is it for only tutorial or the Agents can be developed to do more complex tasks ?

  2. Regardless of the platform or API management tools available, I am inherently unable to connect to external systems, APIs, or process real-time data. My architecture does not support external data integrations or the ability to receive live updates from any source. this is from the On-Demand agent

  3. Well this is not agent, this is just automation. Very often confused.
An AI agent is an autonomous unit, context and goal-based, that can plan and make decisions and not just respond to a request.

  4. Used a tool to fetch youtube comments of a video like this with lot of comments over 2k arguing like usual about ai. Then feed them in a model to highlight me the most spicy 😉 . I not not a RAG but still ..

  5. Imagine what you could achieve with a personal AI assistant like SmythOS, who can help you with everything from research to writing.

  6. How exciting it sounds to construct AI agents! I've been experimenting with SmythOS for my projects, and I'm impressed with how simple it is to create collaborative AI workflows without coding.

  7. TOO MANY WORDS!!! Video could be 80% shorter, even speeding up 1.5 times doesn't help, don't extend videos with extra verbosity and repetition, add more content instead, like showing different kinds of agents or other agent platforms or agents that run locally

  8. So, how close are we to AGI

making video games? Do we need AGI for that, and how close are we to achieving it? Can AI agents already reason, code, program,

script, and map? Can AI break down games, create art assets, and handle long-term planning? With better reasoning, could AI

eventually develop a game rather than just writing out ideas? Could

it also put those ideas into action? I wonder if ChatGPT-5 will be able to create games with agents or even remake old, closed-down

games like Dawn of the Dragons if all the artwork and data are available in the wiki.

  9. I would like a more interactive version, like I'd show a picture of my shoes and it finding a similar link to buy some asking "is this good?" and I just say yes and it makes the purchase for me.

  10. The problem with current agents is that they are not really useful. They just do stuff that you can do yourself with filters during searches. Agents are just not ready for prime time. I think we need information on use cases that actually do things that we can't do or would save us massive amount of time.
