Their banter was cut short by a soft chime—a beamed message via their Quantum Communication Device. It shimmered like molten mercury, suspended mid-air: “Dimension Alpha-9: Cosmic Rift Detected. Immediate Intervention Required.”

Max’s exasperated voice crackled through, almost drowned out by the firing synaptic charges of the comm device. “Harness the entropy, Quanta! Remember, chaos favors the unplanned!”
Quanta, invigorated, twisted reality itself, weaving a delicate dance of probability. They manipulated cosmic strings like a maestro, closing rifts and sending Riff sprawling.
With a triumphant leap, they locked the largest rift with a resonating thud, light cascading into the sky like fireworks. “Oh, Riff, did you forget I’m ubiquitous? I’ve been running circles in every reality!”

With the immediate cosmic threat neutralized, the pair returned to Neon City. Max flopped onto a battered couch, the timeless struggles of reality-hopping leaving him unfazed.
“You know, Quanta, sometimes I worry about your tendency to do battle across all realities simultaneously,” Max mused, tossing a less-buttery feed corn into his mouth. “But then I remember―more popcorn for me!”
Quanta chuckled, watching the ebb and silence settle back into the streets below. “Just another scuffle in the grand cosmic giggle, Max. We are, after all, the movers of improbable mountains.”
